Responsibility
Policies & Guidelines

Overview

Corporate Responsibility (CSR) is a key pillar of our brand. We offer responsible entertainment, while acting ethically, creating a fair and healthy environment for our employees and managing our impact on the environment and audiences.

Entertainment Responsibility

With great entertainment comes great responsibility. We use the power of our products and brands to make a positive impact on society. We safeguard FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, editorial integrity and oppose censorship.

Social Impact

We create a healthy and fair working environment for our employees and give back to our communities.

We are committed to respecting human rights, DIVERSITY AND EQUALITY, as well as to abiding by HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS at work and to GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITIES in the countries where we operate.

For example, internally we support UN’s Sustainable Development GOAL #5 by aiming to achieve GENDER PARITY in our top management by 2020.

Business Ethics

We DO BUSINESS WITH INTEGRITY and PROTECT THE DATA AND PRIVACY of our audiences. Our staff and suppliers maintain the high standards of behaviour that are set out in MTG’S CODE OF CONDUCT and ANTI-BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION POLICIES.

We follow the UN GLOBAL COMPACT PRINCIPLES and its FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION STANDARDS set by the UN’s International Labour Organization (ILO). Our open attitude ensures that employees are free to join unions or bargain collectively. We endeavour only to work with suppliers who also respect and enforce human rights.

Environmental Care

We keep track of our CARBON FOOTPRINT AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION, encourage green thinking and support environmental NGOs and campaigns.

For example, we’ve identified international travel as our biggest emission factor, which is why we have introduced improved video conference facilities. Virtual face-to-face meetings are now easy to set up and manage from any office.

GDPR compliance

Since May 25, 2018, Modern Times Group MTG AB and its subsidiaries are bound by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our policy is to comply with the GDPR. This includes telling our customers about the ways and purposes for which we collect, hold, use or disclose personal information.

To respect our customers’ privacy, we:

  • Implement and maintain procedural, computer and physical safeguards to protect the security and confidentiality of the personal data we collect
  • Limit the personal data collected to the minimum required to provide a better service
  • Delete or anonymize personal data as soon as possible
  • Permit only properly trained employees to access personal data
  • Do not disclose personal data to external parties unless the customers have agreed to it or we are required by law to do so

Core Employee Policies

It’s always good to establish some ground rules. And these are upliftingly no-nonsense. Even if we do say so ourselves. MTG’s employee Code of Conduct and MTG’s anti-bribery and anti-corruption policies outline our views on leading a successful and responsible business.

Something’s not right? MTG’s Whistleblower policy outlines a blow-by-blow account of how to sound that whistle.

MTG Whistleblower Policy

All forms of modern slavery, forced or child labour, exploitation and discrimination are prohibited at MTG, and since we are committed to doing business ethically and responsibly at all times we have prepared this statement in relation to the UK Modern Slavery Act.
