Futureplay

Futureplay is a mobile game developer and publisher based in Helsinki, Finland, with approximately 70 employees. The studio works in the casual segment, with a focus on creating beautifully designed, approachable worlds and easy-to-learn games built on a strong narrative base.

Futureplay’s games have been played by 140 million people worldwide, with the portfolio headlined by the very successful match-3 and merge game Merge Gardens. The studio’s distinctive approach centers on producing rich content and lore around its games and working closely with its player community, and it generates revenue primarily through in-app purchases.

Founded in 2015, Futureplay was acquired by Plarium in 2021 and joined MTG in 2025 as part of the Plarium acquisition. The studio sits within MTG’s Midcore District.
