Modern Times Group MTG AB (publ.) (‘MTG’ or ‘the Group’), the international entertainment broadcasting group, today noted the Norwegian digital terrestrial television (DTT) pay-TV operator ‘RiksTV’s’ announcement that TV3, Viasat4 and SportN will be included as part of its 12 to 16 channel basic package – ‘Rikspakken’ in the Norwegian digital terrestrial network.

The digital terrestrial network will be launched in Norway at the beginning of September 2007 and the analogue switch-off will be completed by the end of 2009. RiksTV, owned by Norwegian companies NRK, TV2 and Telenor, is the pay-TV operator for the new network. TV3 is a well established free-to-air TV channel in Norway and SportN is a cooperation between NRK and MTG. Viasat4 is a new channel which will be launched later this year and will correspond to TV6 in Sweden, which was launched to complement TV3 Sweden in May 2006, during the beginning of the Swedish analogue switch-off. Hans-Holger Albrecht, President and CEO of MTG, commented: “The inclusion in RiksTV’s offering is an important driver in the development of Viasat’s channels, and we will be able to attain significant penetration increases in Norway for the channels as the DTT network grows.” *** For further information, please visit www.mtg.se, email info@mtg.se, or contact: Hans-Holger Albrecht, President & CEO tel: +46 (0) 8 562 000 50 Matthew Hooper, Corporate Communications tel: +44 (0) 20 7321 5010 Modern Times Group is a leading international entertainment broadcasting group with the second largest geographical broadcast footprint in Europe.
