METRO LAUNCHED IN SANTIAGO, CHILE, TODAY An edition of Metro for Santiago, Chile, commenced publication today. The launch was made possible by a court decision in Metro's favor. The newspaper is distributed at stations along Santiago's three subway lines, which carry more than 200 million passengers each year. Modern Times Group MTG AB's Metro International business area now has editions of the newspaper in Prague, Budapest, and Holland, too- all financed wholly by advertising and distributed free-of-charge. Contracts have also been won in Zurich, Newcastle, and Philadelphia. In MTG's core markets, the Nordic countries and Baltic states, Metro is published in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Helsinki.
