Twitter partners with ESL and DreamHack to live stream esports

Twitter users have already experienced the NFL and Golden Globe Awards streamed live – now it’s time for the very best esports from ESL and DreamHack.

In 2017, fans around the world will be able to live stream more than 1,500 hours of esports content from ESL and DreamHack directly on Twitter.

Tournaments featured will include Intel Extreme Masters, ESL One, DreamHack Summer and DreamHack Winter, DreamHack Masters, DreamHack Open, DreamLeague and Hearthstone Grand Prix. Every week, an exclusive 30-minute show on Twitter will summarize the latest action from ESL.

Many fans engage with events and esports stars through Twitter – making it one of the sport’s major platforms.

“We see this collaboration as a way to tap into the engaged audience of gamers that are already using Twitter as a primary source of content,” explains Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter.

ESL and DreamHack, both owned by MTG, are two of the world’s leading esports companies and engage millions of fans through live events and digital festivals.
