MIPTV 2017: MTG’s storytelling goes global

A record-breaking keynote, international deals and the world’s first OTT commissioning club – our stories truly pushed back frontiers at MIPTV in Cannes.

Our next Viaplay Original, ‘Veni Vidi Vici’ was one of 12 finalists in the prestigious MIPDrama Screenings. No prize this time from the international jury (we came, they saw, we nearly conquered…), but we announced a global distribution deal for the series with DRG. Viewers can expect an amazing experience when ‘Veni Vidi Vici’ premieres exclusively on Viaplay on April 13:

We also joined Atrium TV, a global commissioning club that will create premium drama content for regional OTT services. Chaired by Sir Howard Stringer, the former President & CEO of Sony, Atrium already has some amazing projects underway – here’s Variety’s take.

There’s more: Zoomin Studios – the format creation division of Zoomin.TV, our global digital video network – announced that its ‘All for Adrenaline’ show will launch on MTG’s broadcast networks. The series follows free-climber and YouTube star James Kingston, and shows how a huge online success can engage linear audiences too.

In summary, MTG @MIPTV was all about amazing storytelling that travels across screens, formats and countries. Jørgen nailed it in his keynote: MTG is transforming from a traditional national broadcaster into a global digital video entertainer – and as we showed in Cannes, there are no borders, only horizons.
