As one of Valve’s prestigious Major events, ESL One Hamburg in October 2017 brings together the world’s top eight Dota 2 teams to battle over a prize pool adjusted from an original $250,000 to a cool $1 million. The teams will also compete for crucial qualifying points for 2018’s edition of The International, the annual Dota 2 season finale renowned as the richest tournament in esports.
“We’re extremely proud to see ESL One named an official Valve Major,” says Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL. “The passionate Dota 2 community can expect many new legendary esports moments in Hamburg.”
Two of the eight teams will receive a direct invitation to the event, which starts 28 October in Hamburg’s Barclaycard Arena. The remaining six will earn their places through online qualifiers across North America, South America, Southeast Asia, China, Europe and the CIS.
Tickets are available today – with world-class esports, a stunning stadium atmosphere and unique activities such as player autograph signings and the famous Dota 2 cosplay competitions, nothing beats the ESL One live experience. Of course, fans around the world can follow every action-packed second on Twitter and Facebook too.
This is major!
