ESL and Hulu make esports breakthrough

It thrills millions of fans and creates endless legendary moments – now esports is rocking Hulu with four exclusive series from MTG’s ESL, the world’s largest esports company.

The deal marks Hulu’s first-ever foray into esports and brings viewers four original series developed and produced by ESL:

  • ‘Bootcamp’: a weekly reality show following top CS:GO team Immortals as they battle against the clock to rebuild their roster for November’s IEM Oakland 2017, one of the year’s premiere esports events
  • ‘Defining Moments’: an in-depth dive into the most epic episodes in esports history
  • ‘ESL Replay’: a rapid recap from the world’s biggest tournaments, including exclusive analysis and behind-the-scenes footage 
  • ‘Player V. Player’: debate meets quiz show as casters and influencers face off over the hottest topics in esports.

Nielsen’s latest study shows esports fans spend 3.5 hours every week watching digital or streaming services. So exclusive ESL content is a great way for Hulu – one of the leading video streaming offerings in the US and Japan – to appeal to this massive key demographic while showcasing esports to new audiences.

Two original series from ESL recently aired on TV channel Disney XD, while thousands of hours of ESL action are streaming live on Facebook and Twitter (including an exclusive 30-minute highlights show every week) during 2017. Through esportsTV, the world’s first 24/7 esports TV channel, ESL also reaches 5 million households in Europe and Africa and PlayStation™Vue customers in the US.

It’s all about engaging viewers on every relevant platform. ESL events are even winging their way to Emirates Airline (and over 150 destinations across six continents)!
