Carrie-Anne Moss joins ‘Wisting’ cast

It’s not an alternative reality – ‘Matrix’ star Carrie-Anne Moss will appear in MTG’s original series ‘Wisting’, one of Norway’s biggest ever drama productions.

Best known for the ‘Matrix’ film trilogy, Canadian-born Moss has also starred in the recent Marvel series ‘Jessica Jones’, the Oscar-nominated drama ‘Chocolat’ and Christopher Nolan’s thriller ‘Memento’, for which she won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In ‘Wisting’, Moss plays an FBI agent investigating a series of baffling murders in Norway’s Larvik alongside local detective William Wisting, portrayed by leading Norwegian actor Sven Nordin (the Oscar-nominated ‘Elling’).

Moss becomes the second ‘Matrix’ star to join an MTG original production, after Keanu Reeves’ appearances in the first two seasons of LA-based comedy drama ‘Swedish Dicks’.

‘Wisting’ was announced in November 2017 and has received EUR 2.8 million in funding from the Norwegian Film Institute. Filming is already underway in southern Norway.

Based on Jørn Lier Horst’s bestselling crime novels, ‘Wisting’ is created and directed by Katarina Launing (‘Kick It!’) and Trygve Allister Diesen (‘The Third Eye’). The 10-part series is written by Diesen and Kathrine Valen Zeiner (‘Eyewitness’), produced by Cinenord Drama AS and Denmark’s Good Company Films, and will be distributed worldwide by Banijay Rights.

‘Wisting’ premieres exclusively on MTG’s Nordic video streaming service Viaplay and on TV3 across the Nordic region in 2019.
