Hennie topped the Golden Nymph Awards’ Outstanding Actor category at the 57th Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo on June 20, ahead of Jude Law (HBO’s ‘The Young Pope’), Rufus Sewell (ITV’s ‘Victoria’) and Gustaf Hammarsten (‘Midnight Sun’).
Some familiar names there – particularly the last one. Yes, ‘Midnight Sun’ is a nice entertainment group production too!
In ‘Nobel’, Hennie portrays a Norwegian special forces soldier who returns from Afghanistan to find himself pitched into an even more personal battlefield in Oslo. The series has been sold worldwide after premiering on Norwegian public broadcaster NRK last year, including to Netflix in some territories.
Elsewhere at the Golden Nymph Awards, Tuva Novotny (‘Nobel’) and Leïla Bekhti (‘Midnight Sun’) were both nominated for the Outstanding Actress prize. ‘Nobel’ and ‘Midnight Sun’ were nominated for Best TV Series Drama too. ‘Nobel’ previously won the Prix Europa for best European TV mini-series of 2016.
